Conflict is a normal part of life. Many times conflict has negative consequences; however, conflict can have many benefits. When we handle conflict constructively, it can help us learn new and better ways to respond to problems, build better and more lasting relationships, and understand more about others and ourselves. In this course, you will learn and be able to:

2. Understand how you react to conflict
3. Assess your conflict style
4. Learn direct conflict management approaches

6. Prevent conflict using these tools
Activities
You will individually assess your own conflict styles, then within small groups you will discuss the pros and cons of your style in different situations. You will present your findings to the class, so that everyone understands each style thoroughly recognizing when you and others are using a style and how to move to constructive conflict resolution.
By becoming aware of your values, perceptions, assumptions, and communication style and being willing to improve your communication and respect others, you can learn and use skills and techniques that will help you become a more effective communicator.

What is the difference between a Super Bowl team and the minor leagues? To understand what makes a team great, we must realize why a team struggles. Being aware of detrimental factors will help us identify and correct issues before they become problems. This module is loaded with tools you can use immediately.

2. Identify attributes of high performance teams
3. Use tools and techniques to build high performance teams

You will individually assess your own team effectiveness, and then within small groups you will develop a team contract and team charter. You will leave with a 15-step checklist to improve team effectiveness.
Training is only the first step to getting results; now that you have the awareness, knowledge, and skills, you will want to consciously determine what attitudes and behavior you want to model. You will be able to motivate yourself by understanding the benefits to you and measuring your progress. By actively working on your action plan, you will start to create positive rituals that will successfully improve your management skills.
Activities
As we summarize, you will review all of the concepts, tools, and techniques, then you will individually assess your developmental needs from each module and develop an overall leadership action plan to improve and enhance your professional management skills.
